The Special Tour is different from the other tours in the Itaipu Tourist Complex because it allows visitors into the inner section of the dam with a special bus, there are bilingual guides explaining from point to point the plant construction and energy production.
This tour is done in seven stages; the visitors watch an Itaipu film before the beginning of the tour. After watching the film, they go to the Central Belvedere, place where you can have a panoramic view of the dam and the spillway. In the Concrete Dam Station you will see the plant´s reservoir. You will pass inside the dam and you will see the equipments that keep the plant working.
• It is not allowed the entrance of people wearing shorts, skirts, slippers, heels´ shoes and sandals.
