The Bosque Guarani Zoo was opened in 1996, it is located in Foz do Iguaçu´s downtown and it is an important place for species conservation, scientific researches, environmental education and leisure. The area where the zoo was constructed was totally degraded and it was totally restructured.
There are 21 different places of native forest where they protect more than 400 birds, reptiles and mammals from different origins. They are animals from particular donation, animals that were seized or animals that came from other zoos.
While you pass through the zoo you can observe the macaw (a Brazilian parrot), parrots, ferrets, land turtles, monkeys, jaguars, swans, toucans, ostriches and there is still a playground, a snack bar and an amphitheater.
