Localization and Population
Foz do Iguaçu is a very special city that attracts millions of tourists all long the year, it is located in the extreme west of Parana (a state in Brazil) with peculiar characteristics, mainly because it is a frontier city with Paraguay and Argentina, in one hour you can cross the three borders.
The population is estimated in 311 thousand inhabitants, it is strongly characterized by its ethnic diversity, Foz do Iguaçu is formed by 80 nationalities, when you walk through the city, you can easily find Japanese, Chinese, Lebanese, Bolivian, French, Indians and many other nationalities.
Tourism
This place has got natural and paradisiacal beauties like the Iguassu National Park which is a Humanity´s Natural Patrimony, where the amazing Iguassu Falls are located. The Park is full of trails for walks through the forest and for the practice of sports, you can observe the fauna and flora existed from very close.
Not only made by natural beauties, Foz do Iguaçu has also got Itaipu, a Hydroelectric Plant with a gigantic and wonderful structure built by men in 1974. It is one of the biggest responsible for the increase of Foz do Iguaçu´s population, because many workers came with their families to work in the construction.
The weather
The weather is subtropical humid, with intense summers and with rains in all months of the year. The annual temperature varies between 9° and 37° degrees centigrade, but in winter it can get in 1° degree centigrade.

The base of Foz do Iguaçu economy is tourism, the whole city works because of the tourism attractions and because of the tourists. It has got one international airport, a bus station, taxis and transportation services.
